Author, Traveler, Friend

Hi, friends!

Welcome to my little corner of the world where I share bits and pieces of my adventures, and books filled with adventures for you to share, too.

I've been making up stories in my head since I was a little girl growing up on our small farm in eastern Oklahoma. As a matter of fact, my book Seen was based on one of the daydreams I had there in the wood one day among the giant slabs of stone half-buried on a hillside deep in the forest. Those stories never really let me go, and although I grew up, I carried them with me.

Here on my website you'll find several genres to enjoy. So, explore, and choose your next adventure. If you'd like to see more of my own adventures around the world, visit the blog page, or connect with me on Instagram or Facebook.

Thanks for stopping by, and happy reading!

A Little About Me...

Here are a few of my favorite things.

I wrote my first story when I was ten years old, but I never thought I could be a "real writer" because I'd never met anyone who was a writer. So, I became a teacher instead. I wrote my first book on a dare in just 30 days. Then, three months later, I did it again. A writer was born.

When I was little I loved reading so much that I often slept with my books in bed like some children sleep with teddy bears. I got in trouble in school for reading when I was supposed to be doing other work, but the teachers always seemed sad to tell me to put my books away. My favorite books were The Secret Garden, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, and A Wrinkle in Time.

Everyone who knows me knows I love to cook. I like to joke that I'm a culinary school drop-out because I went to culinary school for one year, but dropped out when I realized I didn't want to work in a professional kitchen. I just love feeding people! Hosting a big five course dinner party is my absolute favorite thing. I even share recipes in my sweet romance newsletter for readers who love to cook.

I broke my elbow in a minor bike accident when I was in high school, and after that I was afraid to bike again. But when we moved to Virginia Beach for my husband's work, I was so jealous of everyone riding their bikes along the boardwalk that I faced my fear and bought a new bike. Now, biking when we're at the beach is my favorite way to spend a sunny day. My next goal is buy one of those fabulous trikes with a big basket so I can go to the farmer's market and fill it up.

I carry notebooks with me EVERYWHERE. My bookcases are filled with notebooks, and I still can't resist a lovely new notebook when I see one. Anyone else addicted to office supplies? When I was young I wanted to be a secretary because someone told me they got to order the office supplies, and that sounded like my dream job. It's a good thing no one puts me in charge of an office supply budget, because that would be a very expensive idea!

I absolutely love to travel. To me, travelling represents more than just adventure, it is the moment when anything could happen. Whether it is a roadtrip across the state, or a flight across the world, I am your girl! But once I'm there, I prefer to take things slow, soak in the experience, and explore a culture like the locals. You won't see me rushing around museums and sites because I'll be sitting at the local cafe, watching the people go by, and taking notes in my cute notebook.
